Plek'd for precision playability
This Gibson Les Paul Standard 2016 HP feels fast and precise, thanks in large part to Plek processing. Typically reserved for top-dollar custom guitars, this process levels the frets with pinpoint precision, providing you with the most playable fretboard you're likely to own. Each note rings loud and clear, and the fret edges feel smooth as silk.
Compound-radius fretboard
The Les Paul Standard features a 10"-16" compound-radius fretboard for ultimate playability. The fingerboard is rounder near the nut for easy chord-grabbing and rhythm playing. As your playing heats up and moves up the fretboard, the radius flattens out for easier runs and big, big string bends. With a neck that plays this slick, you'll be up at the highest frets before you know it.
Slim neck profile with wider Soloist neck width
The Gibson Les Paul Standard 2016 HP sports a fast, wide neck with a SlimTaper profile, perfect for modern players who push the speed limit. The wider Soloist neck width gives you more room for big bends and tapping than the traditional LP neck width. And the asymmetrical SlimTaper profile gives you the speed of a thin neck with the chording stability of a rounder neck. It's a great balance for players who love Les Paul tone but prefer a faster, thinner neck.
Dip switches give you access to over 100 tonal options
The Gibson HPs are some of the most sonically versatile electric guitars Gibson has ever offered. The tone and volume controls on the Les Paul Standard 2016 HP are a push-pull design, and five internal dip switches determine how these controls work. By setting these dip switches to your preference you can access coil-splits and coil-taps, a highpass filter for each pickup, determine if you want the pickups to be in or out of phase, and even engage a transient supression circuit for avoiding unwanted output peaks when recording direct.
